This innovative storage cover reflects the sun’s heat.
This is achieved using the proven technology of the CoolGuard swimming pool cover that keeps a pool cool.
The Reflective Storage Cover has a light blue top surface that reflects the sun’s heat and a black underside that prevents light reach the pool cover.
It is this unique combination that has been proved to reduce the temperature of a stored pool cover by over 30°C.
When a swimming pool bubble cover is not in use, it is typically stored on a reel system or folded close to the pool.
Unprotected stored bubble covers will suffer permanent damage with repeated exposure to direct sunlight. This can be avoided with the Reflective Storage Cover.
Independent scientific tests were conducted in the UK in the summer of 2009. The results showed that a bubble cover on a reel system, in direct sunlight, reached temperatures in excess of 77°C. This would be much higher in hotter climates. The graph shows how dramatically the Reflective Storage Cover can reduce this temperature by over 30°C.
Plastipack’s Reflective Storage Cover is available in 1m and 2m widths x 100m lengths. A 1m width is suitable for a pool cover of up to 15m in length.
The cover can easily be secured to a rolled up cover using a variety of straps which are purchased separately.
